Renewed by Jesus’ Love

Joining Jesus in the renewal of all things means embracing a transformed life—one marked by love, grace, and a deep connection with our Saviour. One way we celebrate choosing a life with Jesus is through baptism—a public demonstration of our fresh start with Jesus!

Celebrate with us as we share these baptism stories from those who took this step in March!

EMMA LOWE

“I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour when I was younger in Sunday school, and with my Mom. I know that Jesus loves me, that He made me just the way I am, and that He has good plans for me. I want to get baptized because Jesus asked me to and because I want to follow Him.”

My favourite verse is John 15:4-5:

“Remain in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself. It must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I am in you, you will bear much frit. Apart from me you can do nothing.

BRENDAN KROEKER

“My life before Jesus was filled with loneliness, depression, rebellion and sin. I chose to follow Jesus because I decided to stop following the ways of this world and stop living in rebellion of how Jesus wants me to live.

I got to a point where I realized I was trying to serve two masters. I knew I needed to come back to Jesus and to put Him front & centre in my life. I don’t want to be consumed by the things of this world. I want to follow Jesus, live, and love the way He wants me to.

Following Jesus has made me more giving and caring, and a better husband. I have a strong desire to learn more about what the Bible says.”

My favourite verse is Matthew 6:25-27:

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body and what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

ANABELLA OKE

“I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour when I was 6 years old in Sunday school late last year. Jesus helped me in my darkest hour and made me a better person. I am kinder and more helpful to people around me. I want to be baptized because I want to love and follow God completely.” John 3:16 is my favourite scripture!

SHAYLA-MARIE LINK

“Jesus Christ has guided me throughout my whole life journey. For the past, couple of years I have drawn closer to God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. I have shared my faith with my community and I have had a strong desire to be baptized for quite some time now. I read my Christian bible every day as I get to know Jesus even deeper through my faith and understanding. I pray to be baptized to be obedient to Jesus Christ my Saviour and for my soul to feel revived. I am excited for my new life in Christ and will praise and love Him eternally! I look forward to joining FAC while learning and growing within this church community.”

LIZ MILLER

“I searched different avenues of self-revelation and improvement until I realized only Jesus can fill that need for fulfillment. I am so grateful for having the guidance of my mentor when I first attended FAC as well as my small group. It has helped me through periods of illness and pain. Jesus was always with me at all times, never leaving me.

Proverbs 3:5-6:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths straight.”

LYOGEE LUBOSAN

“My life completely changed when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I am no longer afraid of death or being alone. I know that Jesus is with me and He loves me. I want to let others know that I have been made known.”

TODD HODGSON

“Before I knew Jesus I was lost and had no direction. I had been having substance abuse challenges. [I finally] opened up and had a willingness to bring Jesus into my life. I have since continued to build a relationship with Jesus alongside me in sobriety.

Jesus has helped me to remove some of my selfishness, self-pity, resentment, anger among others. I now make an effort to help others and allow Jesus to do his work through me.”

James 1:19:

“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”

JALAYNA STEWART

“I definitely believed in Jesus my whole life but never felt a strong connection to Him. And I wasn’t being very obedient. I was lost and was being influenced easily.

I have learned in this life that you should always go to God and talk to Him. I started to believe and now believe that God is the only answer to everything.

Jesus gave me the mindset to create a stronger connection and relationship. One night I prayed so hard to God to bring me closer to Jesus and the next morning I felt so devoted to Christ and dropped everything to be closer to Him. I want to get baptized because I want a fresh start with Jesus. I want to let go of my past. I know that when I read my Bible, pray, and talk to God I never need to worry or overthink about my past.”

My favourite verse is Colossians 3:13:

“You must make allowance for each others faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember the Lord forgave you so you must forgive others.”

PATRICK GLASS

“Even though I had been attending church with my wife for years, I still had not realized that I couldn’t do life on my own terms anymore. Then that little voice in the back of my mind kept saying to me, “Read your Bible, listen to what it is saying, and follow it.”
