A Single Grain of Salt: A Story of Faith from Saudi Arabia

Sometimes, it takes just a single grain of salt to tip the scales and bring balance, transformation, and change. This is a story of faith, seeking truth, and how one encounter can ripple far beyond what we can imagine!

The story began in 2016 when a young man from the Kingdom of Saudi accepted Him as his Lord and Saviour. For years, he had not been satisfied with his daily prayers and fasting. He longed for a God who would truly listen to him. In April 2016, weary of rituals and distant devotion, he cried out in a tearful prayer, asking, “Is there a God who can hear my heart?”

That night, as he slept, he had a vision of a person radiating light, hands extended toward him, saying, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

He woke up with a deep peace in his heart—something he had never experienced. Curious, he searched online for the origin of the words he had heard in his vision. He soon discovered it was Jesus who spoke to them. Determined to learn more, he looked up a church in the neighbouring country of Bahrain, got in his car, and drove there to buy a Bible.

He began reading it daily. Eventually, he decided to share his discovery with his wife. Shocked, she initially wanted to divorce him. But as days passed, she noticed a transformation in her husband—less anger, more love, and a newfound spirit of service toward her and their children.

He started reading the Bible to his family daily and prayed for someone to study it with. In 2019, his wife had a dream that deeply moved her, leading her to also follow Christ!

A year later, a new fitness coach had joined his gym. Over time, they became friends, and he felt comfortable sharing his new faith with him. To his surprise, the coach was part of a marketplace ministry. Through him, he was introduced to other like-minded believers. This led to their home becoming a refuge for many. They now lead over five Bible study groups, and on top of that, many of their family members have come to know the One who is the way, the truth, and the life.

Are you a teacher, physician, engineer, or personal trainer? No matter your profession, God can use you to be His hands and feet in a broken world. In our part of the world, darkness won’t be eliminated by simply preaching against it but by people living out their faith—reflecting the Father’s heart in their daily lives.

Finally, remember: You are the salt of the Earth. It doesn’t matter when or where you are. You may be the first person someone meets, the tenth, or the last. What matters most is being open to the Father’s calling in your life, and a willingness to join Jesus in the renewal of all things.
