How FAC Global Partnerships Impact Lives Worldwide

Our church exists to join Jesus in the renewal all things, and one of the ways we do that is by building partnerships. Just like we partner with local organizations to help reach the city of Calgary, we partner with global organizations and people serving in other countries to help reach the world with the love of Jesus. It would be foolish for us to think that we could fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) alone, and so we partner with others with the same desire to see the Gospel and it’s power to renew all nations.

This week some of FAC’s global partners were able to share their perspective on the value of joining Jesus together to reach the world. Here is what they had to share.

Global Partner: Inca Link

FAC: Share a little about who you are and what you do. What’s your mission?

Rich and Elisa: We are Rich and Elisa Brown, the Founders and Presidents of Inca Link international.

Inca Link’s mission is to reach the 300 million youth of Latin America with Christ’s irresistible love. To complete this goal we seek to identify, connect, facilitate and mentor high capacity youth leaders to multiply their impact in Latin America to reach the next generation. Founded in 2006, Inca Link’s reach has been growing, thanks to the Lord’s guidance and intervention! Inca Link serves in 9 countries and over 33 ministries through evangelism & discipleship, training leaders, connecting people and compassion ministries.

FAC: How have you seen FAC partner with you in the past?

Rich and Elisa: We have loved every team from FAC that has come down. You have always been well prepared for ministry, well-equipped, and flexible, ready to serve. Your leadership has always been top-notch. Communication with Pastor Briana has always been productive and informative.  FAC has partnered with Inca Link Colombia (ILC) by bringing great children’s programs to Oasis, CrearT, and other ministry sites. There has been opportunities to work together in discipleship moments that have benefited team members as well as Inca Link Colombia. FAC is partnering with ILC financially by supporting Zoe Homes and even our general ministry fund. FAC has also been to Guatemala, helping with our ministries that support kids at risk.

FAC: Any specific stories you’d like to share that would help people at FAC understand what you’re about and the felt needs your organization serves?

Rich and Elisa: We met Laura nearly 7 years ago when a Canadian family came to Oasis for 10 days. Then, we lost contact with her for several years. In 2024, one of FAC’s teams to Colombia did a hike in which Laura also participated. It was the perfect opportunity to reconnect with her!

From there, Laura began sharing about the challenges she was facing. In those talks, one of our team members shared the gospel with her and she accepted the Lord as her Saviour. This year (2025), Laura, now 21, was in a desperate situation. She was losing her job and home all at once. Where would she go? What would she do? We knew that she was not ready to be independent in a healthy way. That prompted us to start Zoe Home immediately in February.

Laura has been a part of Zoe Home for 7 months now. She’s growing and maturing; it’s been hard for her many times these months. But she has grown enough to also be a part of Link Year! FAC’s teams have played an important part in bringing Laura into the scope of Inca Link’s ministry. FAC’s financial partnership makes it possible for her to live in Zoe Home and participate in Link Year. Praise the Lord!

FAC: What’s the one thing you want us to know?

Rich and Elisa: We rely heavily on this partnership with you. You have helped with prayer, support, short term teams, having us at your International Weekend and church groups to share what God is doing. We are also excited as we move into the new Envision role to help mobilize 10,000 people in 10 years. We believe FAC will play a crucial role in helping us achieve this goal, as The Alliance Canada aims to empower leaders.

FAC: How can the FAC community best support you?

Rich and Elisa: Continue what you are already doing. Your support for our ministries in Colombia and Guatemala is needed.

FAC: What are some specific ways someone can help?

Rich and Elisa: We could also use interns and residents, as well as Global Coaches from FAC. A Global Coach is someone who helps lead short term teams in other countries. We would love to raise up some Global Coaches for Inca Link as well as Envision and all countries of the Alliance Canada that host Short-Term Mission Trips.

Global Partner: Compassion Canada

FAC: Share a little about who you are and what you do. What’s your mission?

Brian: My name is Brian Cool and I work at Compassion Canada. Compassion Canada’s mission is to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Compassion Canada is about the work of holistic child development. That work is primarily funded through one to one child sponsorship. Compassion also funds individual projects that support child development such as building classrooms, providing clean drinking water, moms and babies programs, and anything else a local church might need.

FAC: How have you seen FAC partner with you in the past?

Brian: Over the years FAC has hosted Compassion Sundays to see children sponsored. Over 900 children have been sponsored through people who have attended FAC over the years.

FAC: Any specific stories you’d like to share that would help people at FAC understand what you’re about and the felt needs your organization serves?

Brian: Poverty steals hope. But by becoming a sponsor to a child or youth you can give hope back in Jesus’ name. Poverty tells children they are worthless. Compassion’s promise to children is that they would be known, loved, and protected.

FAC: What’s the one thing you want us to know?

Compassion Canada is not the answer. Jesus is the answer. The world doesn’t need more Compassion Canada, it needs more Jesus. Poverty at it’s root is a spiritual issue and that’s why Compassion Canada partners with over 8000 local churches worldwide who serve children in need. The Church is God’s plan A for the world. There is no plan B.

FAC: How can people at FAC best support you?

Brian: Stay connected with us. Find Compassion Canada on social media. We regularly post inspirational stories of the work local churches around the world are doing to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

FAC: What are some specific ways someone can help?

Brian: Visit our website to get involved as a volunteer. Whether it’s as an event volunteer at church service or concert. Become a prayer partner or someone who writes letters to children to encourage them.

Global Partner: Bill Finnemore

FAC: Share a little about who you are and what you do. What’s your mission?

Bill: My name is Bill Finnemore. My wife and I served in Poland as IW‘s for 14 years. I am now the liaison between the churches in The Alliance Canada and our network of churches in Poland and Ukraine in respond to the situation caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

FAC: How have you seen FAC partner with you in the past?

You (FAC) acted quickly and sent financial support.

FAC: Any specific stories you’d like to share that would help people at FAC understand what you’re about and the felt needs your organization serves?

Bill: At the beginning of the war, thousands of refugees were flooding into Poland. In partnership with the Alliance Canada, our Polish partner churches provided for the basic physical needs of housing and food. Several months after the war had begun, our Polish churches began taking convoys of material help into Ukraine. These convoys are manned by volunteers who take vacation time from their jobs. They go all across Ukraine, sometimes within a few kilometres of the front. The supplies are distributed by local Ukrainian churches to the surrounding community. People who would never have opened the door of an evangelical church before the war, are not only receiving material help, but finding eternal life through Jesus Christ.

One example is a lady named Luba. Early in the war, her home in eastern Ukraine was completely destroyed. She fled to Western Ukraine, where she received material help from one of our Ukrainian churches. Just recently she was baptized and is now a follower of Christ.

FAC: What’s the one thing you want us to know?

Bill: Although the news cycles have been reporting less on the war in Ukraine, the fighting continues. Individuals live with constant alarms day and night, the fear that loved ones who have been conscripted will be wounded or killed and young sons who are approaching the age of 18 may have to go and fight. This morning, when I spoke with one of the Ukrainian pastors asking him how he was doing, his response was that he was thankful that he was able to continue serving in the church since he was recently excused from going to the front. But in three months, his case is to be reviewed again. The sense of fear and loss is a constant cloud.

As a result of these terrible circumstances, people are more open now than before to receiving all that God has for them. It is an open door that we must continue to go through.

FAC: How can people at FAC best support you?

Bill: Continue to pray for the believers in Poland and Ukraine and give financially so that our Polish churches can continue to respond.

These are just three examples of our intentional global partnerships at FAC, and how we’re working together to join Jesus in the renewal of all things. Explore how you can get involved with these or other global partnerships through FAC; contact Pastor Briana Southerland to learn more.
