From August 7-16, 10 adults from FAC are going to Quito, Ecuador to learn from and serve the local church there. As they prepare to go on this short-term mission trip, we invited them to share what prompted them to say “yes”, what they’re most excited about, and how we can be praying for them.

FAC: Why did you decide to join the Ecuador Short-Term Missions trip?

Dave:  I joined because I like helping others. It gives me the opportunity to use the skills God has given me.”

Tony: "During FAC International Weekend, the Holy Spirit encouraged me to visit the information table. I felt convicted that I should go on a mission trip.

Jaclyn: "I felt called to go and wanted to grow in my faith and relationship with God by serving others and sharing His love in a different context."

George: "After seeing a slide on the missions TV wall at FAC Deerfoot, I decided to go to Quito to bring the peace and love of Jesus.”

Wendy: “My heart has been tugging to somehow join Jesus this summer, and then the email invitation to join the Ecuador team was sent out. The Holy Spirit reawakened something in me. As the process unfolded, it became clear that this was what the Lord had been planning for me."

Denise: "God has been leading me toward missions for some time. This is my very first mission trip, and I'm excited to serve alongside this team. The opportunity came when a friend from FAC told me about this trip. God worked everything out perfectly, and I'm very grateful!"

FAC: What are you most excited about?

Lei: "I'm excited about sharing the gospel with the Ecuadorian people and learning more about the ministry there."

Tony: "I'm excited to see how God will surprise each of us in unique ways and for the opportunity to share the hope we have in Jesus."

Denise: "I'm excited to see what God has in store for us and for the people we will serve through the gifts and skills He has given each of us. I'm also looking forward to

learning about the culture and people of Ecuador, a place I don't know much about. I know God will stretch and grow me through this experience, and I can't wait to see all that He will do."

Wendy: "Where do I start? I've really enjoyed getting to know our team. I'm also excited to see what God is doing through one of the ministries we'll be serving with. It's like a treasure hunt with the Lord!"

David: "I'm looking forward to learning about a country I have very little experience with or knowledge of. I also hope I can share some of my own experiences with the people we meet.

FAC: How can we be praying for you?

Dioni: "Pray for physical, emotional, and spiritual readiness for each team member as we serve in Quito. Pray for the resources needed to support the team, for safety and well-being, and for life-changing experiences—not only for our team, but especially for the Quito community."

George: "Please pray that we would be a blessing to those we serve and that they would bless us as well. Pray for safety, good health, and peace for our loved ones while we are away. Also pray for unity, understanding, and strong relationships among our team members."

Dave: "Pray that the mission trip goes well and that everyone gets along and works together."

Lei: "Please pray for strength, for the ability to communicate well, and for successful ministry opportunities. Pray that we would use the talents God has given us to serve others well."

Tony: "Pray for a deep filling of the Holy Spirit for our team."

Jaclyn: "Please pray for health and safety, and that we would hear God's voice and glorify Him in all that we do."

David: "Please pray that we would have open hearts and minds toward one another and the beautiful people we will encounter together."

As the Ecuador team prepares to go, let’s pray for them. May God guide their steps, strengthen their unity, and go before them as they join Jesus in what He is already doing in Quito!
