Discipleship Bands
A discipleship band is a group of 3-5 men or women who meet weekly to engage in transformational questions and to pray for one another. It’s about creating a safe micro-community where we can be honest and real, space to share how we're really doing, and a place where we can be loved and prayed for. Think of it like banding together.
What happens in a band?

What to Expect
Ask God to help you identify who you could ask to form a band with you. Give yourself at least 6 months to get to know your bandmates and just keep showing up, being honest, and praying for each other. Let transparency and accountability develop over time as you follow Jesus together!
-
Meet Weekly. Set a consistent time and guard it.
-
Respect the Clock. Keep sharing to 15 minutes per person.
-
Challenge by Choice. Skip a question anytime; you’re never forced beyond your comfort level.
-
Limit Cross-Talk. Practice listening and avoid interrupting.
-
Be Led by One Counsellor. Invite the Holy Spirit to prompt your prayer.
-
Comfort with Empathy. Hold space for each other; bless and encourage.
-
Be a Community of Grace. When someone confesses sin, speak words of forgiveness and thank them for their courage (1 John 1:9).
-
Remain Strictly Confidential. What’s shared in your band, stays in your band.
Band Questions
Start with just the first 3 questions and add the last 2 when you’re ready. Move at your own pace; focus on building trust and always keep confidentiality:
-
How’s your soul?
-
What are your successes and struggles?
-
How is God’s Word and the Holy Spirit speaking in your life?
When you’re ready to go deeper …
-
Do you have any sin to confess?
-
Is there anything you want to keep secret?
