The Arts
We believe creativity reflects the heart of God. Be part of a community of artists, musicians, designers, and dreamers who shape spaces and experiences that point to Jesus at FAC!
Meaningful relationships through FAC can happen best in small groups—3 or more people who connect regularly for Bible study, conversation, prayer, and friendship beyond the weekend gatherings.
Visual Artists’ Gatherings
Build relationships with other artists, improve your skills, be inspired, and contribute to art that beautifies FAC campus spaces and inspires worship in our weekend services!
Some nights are more structured, while others are more open-ended with everyone bringing their own art project to work on. (Please bring your own supplies.) This group often works toward a theme for our Fireplace Gallery.

Get Connected
1st Wednesdays of the month
7:00-9:00 pm, FAC Deerfoot
Creative stage sets, graphic design, art exhibits, and permanent art installations also invite others into worship or mark a significant moment in our journey together. We’d love to hear from you if you’re looking for opportunities to create at and for FAC!
Theatre
Seeing stories brought to life on stage or screen helps point us toward our Creator in the weekend services, while occasional full-length special productions create great opportunities to invite the broader community to experience the arts in a welcoming church setting.

You’re always welcome to sit in on your student’s lessons. This lets you observe your student and their instructor in action first-hand and may enable you to better support your student as they practice at home. This is not a time for prolonged conversation with the instructor. If there is an issue you wish to discuss, please make arrangements to do this outside of the lesson as this time is precious. In rooms where there is no clear visual access, the room door will be left slightly ajar if possible and/or unlocked. Sometimes, noise bleeding either into or from the room makes this impractical, but instructors will do this whenever possible.
-
Schedule: Lessons will be scheduled in 3 terms throughout the year, running from September to June. For specific dates, please see the general calendar. All lessons take place at the FAC Deerfoot of First Alliance Church (12345 40 Street SE, Calgary). Our preference is for in-person lessons but if you’d like to chat about online options, please contact us.
-
Attendance: We encourage students to attend all lessons (illness aside). If a student must miss a lesson, the parent must inform the instructor at least 24 hours in advance. The instructor will do their best to reschedule lessons up to a max. of 1 PER TERM or (3 times per year for full-year students), time permitting.
-
The health of students and instructors is important; please don’t send your student to a lesson if they’re ill.
-
If the instructor misses a lesson, the student will be notified by the instructor and the lesson rescheduled.
-
Arrive promptly. Lessons will not be extended past their scheduled time to compensate for late arrivals.
-
Cancellation: If a student must end lessons during the year, we require written notification from the parent and 30 days paid notice.
-
Recitals will take place twice a year. All students are expected to participate. There will be no additional charge for recitals. The dates of the recitals are listed on the FAC School of Music calendar.
-
-
e-Transfer: use payment@faccalgary.com and you must include the student’s full name and “School of Music” in the memo line.
-
Post-dated cheques: dated the first of each month, made payable to “First Alliance Church”; these are due before the term begins.
-
Debit or credit card: payment for the full term by the beginning of each term.
NOTE: In addition to lesson fees, an annual, non-refundable $100 fee is required at the time of registration to help offset recital costs and other administrative expenses.-
